A special session was held in the Chamber of Deputies in Argentina regarding the Libra crypto-scam case. The opposition submitted three bills for consideration, two of which aimed to summon the Secretary-General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, and the Chief of Cabinet, Manuel Adorni, to Congress to testify about their alleged involvement in the crypto fraud scheme. However, the motion did not achieve a sufficient majority. National Deputy Maximiliano Ferraro of the Civic Coalition proposed the motion to put forward the initiatives aimed at having the two high-ranking officials of Javier Milei's government appear before the lower house to account for their alleged participation in the Libra crypto scam. The third bill, which was also rejected, sought to require President Javier Milei to answer questions about phone calls and/or messaging with crypto-intermediary Mauricio Novelli, and also about possible payments received by the president from this businessman. The vote resulted in 125 positive and 116 negative votes, but since the bills did not have a report, a qualified majority of three-quarters of the deputies present would have been required, as noted by the Argentine News Agency. After the vote, Ferraro stated: 'There were 125 affirmative votes, adding up some absences and other deputies already committed, in the coming weeks we will have the numbers to summon the committees and approve the requests for information and summons.' He also added: 'In Comodoro Py, it is often difficult to investigate the power when it is in power, and it is more than evident the cover-up by prosecutor Taiano in relation to what happened with the Libra scam, where the presidential authority has been abused.'
Argentina Fails to Secure Summons for Milei's Aides to Congress

The bills, which called for summoning high-ranking officials of President Javier Milei's government to Congress, were not passed due to the lack of a qualified majority. The opposition vowed to continue the fight.
